  • Spacex(AI) is the only company getting any NASA/DOD contracts to put things in space, so that gives them a massive advantage there.
  • In addition to that, I've seen that Google/Anthropic are both paying SpaceXAI about a billion monthly, each, to use their hardware, so I guess they heavily invested in AI tier hardware at some point.
  • There's also just the Elon Musk effect, where people keep investing in him because they know he'll pull whatever shady tactics necessary to make himself richer.

  • I bought DRAM in the high $50's, made a little and flipped back to ASTS to try and make money.
  • Then moved to NASA because I thought that was going to go up before SpaceX.
  • I barely have time to look at my trading app most days.
  • So I try to buy stuff that looks like it will take a couple weeks to move.

  • It's already proved its ability to deploy Starlink satellites into orbit, and they've caught the booster serval times.
  • Bear in mind, they chose a very different design approach to NASA.
  • And it needs a few more test flights yet to demonstrate it can safely deorbit and reenter, but it's not far off that goal, and it'll be ready to fly on the regular in the next 12 months.
  • Also bear in mind, Starship is a pretty cheap rocket compared to what NASA is spending.
  • 20 Starships cost less than a single SLS to build.

  • SpaceX is likely postitioned to be one of the greatest companies almost solely based on their reusable rocket tech.
  • Where they are going into AI cloud tech now, and they have the means of blasting their own equipment in space also either major companies doing the same.
  • It's pretty clear that the US is going to search for other companies to help with the new space race happening.
  • And after all that money that was granted to BlueOrigin is up in smoke , SpaceX is literally the only company doing something useful.

  • SpaceX replaced NASA and Russia as the go to for launching shit into space, and at a 10th to 20th the cost.
  • And people think this is going to tank at IPO.
  • As much as I dislike Elon these days why the fuck wouldn't you go in on this?
  • Not only is it likely to moon just because it's Elon, but he has the power of the corrupt US government on his side.

  • He has done much to block those out if the US market in lieu if his much more expensive cars that catch on fire often enough for it to be a risk.
  • SpaceX has had multiple dumpster fires and bad launches that are inferior to what we would get if we funded NASA.
  • But, of course, were cutting a ton of the public funding to throw money at corpos that will not return any of it for the public good.
  • Instead of the US building out infrastructure, were making whole sections of the US reliant on something that should be a public utility being provided by a shark were somehow still funding at crazy price hikes that will still also charge the people themselves an exorbitant rate.

  • If NASA receives the kind of funding it received back in its heydey, we would be in a completely different situation right now.
  • Starving science and technology research to the point of failure and then pointing to said self-created failure as the reason it should be privatized, is exactly the flawed logic people like Elon and others want you to believe.

  • I think more than likely they will slowly phase xAI out and sell compute like they've done with Anthropic and just signed a deal with Google.
  • The last 15 years I've seen people bet against SpaceX and say they were bullshit but they consistently prove people wrong.
  • Hell I didn't think they had a chance to beat Boeing into launching humans in space.
  • And Starliner is a disaster while crew dragon has already filled all their initial missions with NASA and is putting tourists in space.
  • If any company can execute its visions, it's SpaceX
What if retail decided not to participate in SpaceX IPO and provide exit liquidity for SpaceX insiders 1 0.6939 investing

  • SpaceX has a rocket that has flown without fail since 2018 that can do double the payload capacity if what RKLB is planning to test for the first time later this year assuming no more delays.
  • Starship on the other hand has successfully tested its payload capacity which is 10-15x RKLBs planned prototype.
  • The number of starlink satellites going into the universe over the next decade is in the 10s of thousands.
  • If you belive humanity is getting serious about Space, Mars, moon bases etc, SpaceX has essentially a monopoly on the sector.
  • The obvious downside is xAI which I am not a huge believer in the entire sector but hard to escape AI is here to stay.

  • Personally, I think we shouldn't be privatizing these things at all.
  • Governments should be taking on these responsibilities.
  • But since NASA is being de-funded and extraterrestrial efforts aren't being prioritized, private companies are doing it.

Are there any pro investment arguments for Spacex 2 0.9848 investing

Here's my take on this that makes me bullish in the long term (this isn't for day traders, and I'm n...

  • In order to support a moon base, you really do need an actual space economy, and launch capabilities are square 0 to getting that.
  • GPS, weather, space station infrastrucutre, soon to be data centers, moon-based logistics - all of it requires launch capabilities.
  • If you understand NASA's staged plans to get to Mars, this starts to paint a better picture.
  • In that case, getting in on SpaceX - as a buy-and-hold long term position - seems like if you were to have been a seed-round investor when the wright brothers were getting laughed at.
  • I'm looking at their undisputed engineering prowess, and the world that is unfolding that, for the most part, seems to be invisible to most people.

NASA was never designed to be profitable. NASA is focused on scientific research primarily. For exam...

  • For example, the agency regularly releases technology patents into the public domain for unrestricted commercial use, making them entirely free to utilize without licensing fees.
  • There are only a few companies with launch and orbital capabilities and SpaceX is one.
  • Their customers, which include NASA and the U.S. government, will rely on them for everything from exploratory missions to potential resource mining operations.
  • It is a speculative bet at a high valuation but if you have optimism that humanity is destined to expand to the stars, SpaceX is as close as you can come to investing in the ships that will take us there.

  • I mean given the robots in Team Fortress 2 ran on literal money, surely a few shovels of public/retail investor money can keep those Grok swasticenters running for a few more days!
  • The good old days when beach and Caribbean pollution from failed launches was the big controversy, evened out by potentially usable global internet from scaled out Starlink, all the cool NASA and other private science and crew contracts, etc.
  • Yes, surely they'll fit a few Feynman GPUs on their mars or moon 2035 era starship, and send a few of their robots over to do some base setup with assisted teleoperation (totally not what they care about, though)
