Why only Google has a low P/E?

People keep bringing the DOJ issue but antitrust investigations are not exclusive to Google. IMHO the big tech valuation has become very "meme-ish" and disconnected from fundamentals. Google isn't seen as a cool company while Tesla or Apple are, so their PE are higher. It sounds dumb but in this market GME or DJT show that numbers don't really matter as much anymore.

  • Grew up poor, had a handful of quarters and went into a carnival and doubled, then lost almost everything, on the sliding deck games.
  • Actually took time to reflect on the loss and the rush I felt "getting something from nothing" and immediately falling into the trap of chasing the high.
  • Managed to avoid the same until GME swept the headlines.
  • I still daydream about putting all my savings into the right stock (or bitcoin) at the right time, quadrupling, 25x or 100x that figure over a short time, but it's all foolishness.

  • Because this is only based on that GME stock guy that posted a cryptic message, and some are choosing to use that to pump this stock.
  • The reality is, all developments - internationally, - around cannabis are waiting on politics.
  • And the longer that takes, the more these companies need tp stretch their finances and hope to survive another year.
  • The longs are just waiting for a height to unload, and new bag holders will replace them.
  • Yes Medical Cannabis holds a lot of promise, and if you trust in that and have sufficient funds..just go long..real long.

  • It's a misdirection, TLRY was never correlated with GME but bagholders from the well timed '21 pump and dump *think* it was.
  • Correlated basket stocks which had their buy buttons turned off in '21: $AAL, $AMC, $BB, $BBBY, $CTRM, $EXPR, $GME, $KOSS, $NAKD, $NOK, $SNDL, $TR and $TRVG
  • There is a weed play in there, SNDL
  • but TLRY baggies don't want anyone to invest in that one (which actually could move if GME goes parabolic) because it might take away from their pump!
  • No fight APES!

  • You never know if a company is going to go bankrupt or if the CEO is going to get indicted for embezzlement or some companies just quit preforming despite their stellar balance sheets like Nike.
  • Or if a merger is blocked and the company dies see: Spirit.
  • Or if you're a POS CEO and blame your company's failings on theft instead of stupidity like Target.
  • Or insanely overvalued shit like TSLA.
  • Or dipshit cult followings like GME that's failing financially but cultists don't care for some stupid reason so the stock price is at least 3x what it should be.

  • I moved there and got into GME at $20 pre-split and absolutely killed it for months.
  • Nothing was better than hitting 30 SPY call trades in a row that summer and hitting the beach everyday.
  • Of course I got flushed by September lol but when you don't even have to drive your car it's a good life.
  • I honestly wonder if my environment not being as favorable has contributed to my crappy performance lol.

  • Thus, people would just make less (because everyone would knwo where market is heading)
  • Yo have different types of strategies: Patterns, price action, indicators, news, and so on - you need to find what is good with your trading style (more risky or less risky)
  • Depends on the process each "trader" takes - it could be that a person did 1000+ trades in a year and didnt get good because he didnt learn from his mistakes and a person that did 500 trades in 3 years and now "understands" what is needed to be done to keep profitable.
  • You have many different dealerships, grocery stores and etc but they still all make money- competition is never a key in trading - It's you against yourself all the time!
  • companies can go out of business if investors take their money out of their stock - you had it ALMOST happen to GME and AMC (if you dont know about this case read online)
Why is everyone so adamant in being a bull? 7 -0.9828 Daytrading

  • They don't really understand the reason behind it or importance of it or why someone might want to do it other than greed and manipulation.
  • Short selling just kind of always left a bad taste in peoples mouth and it's easy to blame the "damn short sellers" when ur long a stock that's going down.
  • To me who gives a fuck as long as your making money... that's all we are here to do anyway
  • I can understand if it's on illiquid stocks but as long as your trading something with good volume and you use a stop it's no different than going long.
  • A lot of people jus have a mental block with making money on something going down or the "you can lose all your money" thing

  • The overall goal is to find about 1.5-2% premium of current stock value in the trade.
  • I also like to focus on writing calls after the stock has had a few days of nice runs to the upside.
  • Doing cocktail napkin math, this can create up to 6 to 10 times annually to pick up some additional premium at very low risk of getting exercised.
  • If it does get exercised and I really like the company, I've no issue buying the stock back on a reasonable dip and looking for the next opportunity to write another call when it's moving to the upside.
  • The key to success is to ONLY buy great companies that gush cash...don't let yourself get suckered into attempting these strategies with high-flyers / Meme stocks that don't earn a dime for their shareholders (let the GME "kitty cats" play their own game.

Carvana - A thesis with dates but without a good position 7 0.819 stocks

Carvana is not GME. Sure, I think they could do that and increase float by 10% at current prices. ...

  • However, the penalty would be the same - stock would tank and they'd have to dilute even more for the same outcome.
  • May not bottom out completely, but 3200 p/e even reduced to 200 p/e is a Market Cap of $3.5B - so they'd have to double.
  • There's no way they wouldn't walk away without a severe penalty.
  • Seems to have stabilized and not sure they can go much higher (always can defy rationality more) and (2) worth it to wait?
