  • I bought CGC, ACB, and TLRY mid spike a month ago.
  • The ass fell out of it and was holding a bag $-20,000 what paid for it.
  • Set up an auto trade to sell it all off once it had broken even.

  • I love how roll has become a fancy word for a failure of a trade and recovering pennies but somehow sounding smart.

  • They used to be the same size in terms of allocation but Hiti has since taken off while VFF keeps stumbling with the rest of the sector.
  • The stock does nearly $350M in yearly revenue (split roughly 50/50 over produce and cannabis), has $210m in net tangible assets (primarily greenhouse infrastructure spread across Delta, B.C.
  • and in the permian basin in Texas), and their current assets nearly cover their total liabilities.
  • The stock is worth $85M in market cap which is roughly the amount of excise taxes that they pay yearly, which is mindblowing to me.
  • I continue to buy the stock as it trades for nearly nothing yet has a competitive business model backed by strong assets.

  • If we stop chasing what we are left with are lessons learned and hopefully that leads to more solid investments in the future.
  • This experience has caused me to re-assess my other investments and positions and over the next year or two I need to work towards an overahul.
  • If you do find value its OTC and it is either manipulated to all get out or there is such low volume that a $100 trade can make you feel like you just lost 8% of your investment.
  • I still hold positions in AYRWF, CBSTF, CNTMF, GTBIF, MSOS and TLRY.
  • Unfortunately a lot of these things take time and this sector is dominated by hype, news and rumors and the companies have upcoming debt and potential dilution.

  • I have a small put position dated out to June and I never play options.
  • TLRY has missed the past 5 or 6 earnings calls
  • The only way they can continue to fund this operation is to dilute to raise money.
  • They could sell assets or start making money but I wouldn't hold my breath.
  • We have pretty strong evidence this is the case bc when shareholders voted against dilution TLRY just gave them enough preferred stock to ram the vote through anyways.

  • A 10% allocation to Jan 25 TLRY and HITI calls is how I'm playing it.
  • It's 100% a momentum play on mainstream attention returning to the sector.
  • The vast majority of my weed stocks are in MSOS, but there's a very real chance that LPs benefit the most from an irrational exuberance run.

  • There is a weed play in there, SNDL
  • but TLRY baggies don't want anyone to invest in that one (which actually could move if GME goes parabolic) because it might take away from their pump!
  • It's a misdirection, TLRY was never correlated with GME but bagholders from the well timed '21 pump and dump *think* it was.
  • No fight APES!

  • I really just want to play the big dumb pump that I think is coming, and then use my money to enrich my rich instead of hodling weed bags.
  • I mean, and this is sad, it is one of the best performing of the bigger LPs out there.
  • Purely on the metric "reverse splits required to stay listed on the NASDAQ", TLRY is a clear "winner".
  • Like maybe ACB is in better shape now (on the backs anyone who ever invested in it prior to 2024), but I still think TLRY has a better chance of becoming one of the top weed companies in a worldwide market someday.
  • But I'm not holding it for that.

  • If you mean TLRY, it's because they are well positioned to immediately enter the US medical market.
  • They have stated numerous times that they have no intention of competing with retail, as there will likely be significant downward price pressure as costs decrease and competition ramps up.
  • Plus, it will be easier to access and covered by some insurance companies once it hits S3, reducing need to "race to the bottom" on price.

  • Unfortunately the reality is they 100% need to dilute to acquire to meet guidance.
  • I don't think I heard the fiscal '25 revenue guidance, which had been $950 million to $1 billion.
  • We have not updated our guidance to include the Molson's acquisition.
  • The guidance Irwin gave has it built in that they need more M&A in order to hit it.
  • Giving guidance with the assumption of hopeful future deals is extremely sleazy.

  • > This is a popular question, and I will end up referring back to this answer a number of times.
  • It is a popular question because shareholders care about companies that make money.
  • Combine that with the dilution, whether you avoid calling it that because the company is gaining assets or not, it is clear what investors, including but not limited to retail, think about that with even the most passing glance at the stock chart.
  • You say TLRY doesn't dilute for cash yet all of TLRY's cash on hand came from dilution years ago, which has dwindled by half while continuing to create shares for acquisitions.
  • If TLRY's entire investment thesis is "let us use your money to grow, we'll make money eventually" why would anyone want to hold it until TLRY has matured.

  • Why would you ever leave out the rest of Tilrays debt?
  • The current portion of the long term debt $16m.
  • Why don't you share with everyone what the TOTAL debt is on tilrays balance sheet?
  • That would be an easier metric for people to determine if their shares will be diluted down, or if TLRY is likely to go bankrupt in the future.
  • The spin you put on everything is getting exhausting and it's ALMOST misinformation the way you leave out the negatives.
