DX slashes its dividend by 50% and loses 30% of its stock value due to the decision. You are 58 and your IRA plan just went up in smokes. Dividends are for when you don't need growth and even then you need diversification. Go look at REIT stocks pre and post covid. Most have not recovered the value loss and have not uncut their dividends.
