Actually I generally just check VTI performance.
You know it's bad when you have to turn to your set it and forget it retirement portfolios and wonder if you should buy more VTI or sell everything you have while you're still up 60%...
VTI is still up almost 3% over the last three months even after a 1.5% down day, so my scheduled buys are just buying at a slightly less high price.

Buddy just put 90% of your money into VTI (Total Market ETF) and then use the other 10% for shit like this. … If you're serious about picking winners, pick more reliable stocks or pick things that are products you use in real life that you enjoy and would happily continue paying more money for.

Why do people always talk about the stock market drops in numeric terms and not percentages?
I hate that everyone talks about the Dow. Nasdaq 100, Russell, and S&P are all I look at. Actually I generally just check VTI performance.

I mean what's your definition of evil. I guess Costco might fit your bill. Also not to be a dick but Nvidia isn't going lose or win based on your paltry contributions. Just put your money in VTI (a combinations of the entire worlds stock markets).

At 29, you may have 5 or more opportunities to bump up your Roth with a transfer bonus. That will really juice your returns. You can hold VTI and VXUS and move it around. So Robinhood. If you don't want to play the game, Fido is fine. I have both.

There's panic on the streets!!! Just threw 5k at VTI shares, have another 5k ready for next week. Finally a real dip. Eyeing QQQ as well.

VTI is still up almost 3% over the last three months even after a 1.5% down day, so my scheduled buys are just buying at a slightly less high price. … For single names I am stricter, I only add if earnings estimates held up while the price fell, otherwise teh cheaper price is just the market repricing weaker earnings.
Can it be that Black Friday is tomorrow?
VTI is down 1.8% today. Up almost 3% over the last 3 months. Wake me when there's like 10 more days like today.

Why not just buy VTI or VT and not have to worry about churning or rebalancing? Lol can't have taxes if you don't sell.

The entire weight of the index is being pulled by like 7 companies that are all in on AI. This is why stuff like VTI exists for non-regarded long term hodling.
In 2007/09 financial crisis S&P 500 went down 57% and it took 5 and a half years to recover back.
Do a Dollar Average Cost (DCA), you can set a small amount of recurring investment weekly. In my case i do $150 weekly into VTI (SP500) Vxus (International Stock) AVUV (Small Business) BNd (Bonds). If stock crash i will be buying at a discount. Remember Crash = Discount for long terms investors.
