Costco valuation: how much EPS growth offsets a fall from 50x to 35x earnings?
I personally would never touch such a stock when there are far better growth options available. … Not due to faltering business, but simply multiple compression. Same with WMT.
35x is still a rich exit multiple, but Costco has traded at or above that for a good while, so that part looks more defensible to me than the growth rate. … A quick sanity check is putting COST next to WMT and BJ on P/E, EV/EBITDA, margins and revenue growth side by side.

You would be correct. So the best examples I can offer here as to the misunderstanding of many investors are AAPL and WMT. … GOOGL has never recovered from its dilution and AMZN has been trading at a sharp discount against its P/E in large part because they also went negative FCF.
