If AMD is now a large part of your portfolio, I'd trim some and diversify. Taking out your original principal doesn't really make the remaining $11k "free money" -- it's still $11k of your capital today. You can stay bullish on AMD without letting one stock dominate your portfolio.

  • Once they break the CUDA moat, NVDA will lose market share but the margins in the industry overall will take a hit.
  • Hardware stocks like that you shouldn't be too greedy with and exit once you thesis is validated.
  • My thesis was - AMD will prove itself as a serious competitor to NVDA and re-rate.
  • What you do with it depends on your thesis, expectations and timeframe.
  • If you're no longer feeling confident I'd consider reducing exposure until I did.

  • Let me shine a light in my own experience for a sec: I had a long term portfolio with AMD @ 50, Uber @ 35, CRWD @ 40, ABBV @ 30 and some other smaller holdings that if I had just held from 2020 until now it would have set me up to be retired.
  • I unfortunately sold it all to start actively trading with the false sense of confidence I would be better off doing so.

There are multiple issues with your approach: 1. Identifying as a bear or bull is retarded. Permabe...

  • As a bear you're betting against a market that generally goes up over the long term, so you're already at a disadvantage from the start.
  • Even small bets (5% total for example) can make a great impact on your port if they work out as a multi-bagger.
  • Keep some cash on hand as an emergency fund / trading capital, preferably earning interest along the way.
  • You can stack the probability of your trade going your way by making sensible plays (strike prices and expirations that aren't retarded, good entries, technicals, catalysts) but the market can still fuck you or you can fumble the trade by exiting too late / early (early and taking profit is better than round-tripping, another WSB special).
  • The bulk comes from boring total market ETF DCA, but I have never had an unprofitable year of active trading (mostly derivatives, but also a 600% gain on AMD stock which I bought in 2022).

  • Software Engineering (i.e. Customer-Company) perspective: In Q3 2026, I can do 50-70% of Claude Sonnet 5 tasks with a 2k-5k USD AMD strix halo or NVIDIA spark system and a free Qwen \~100B model.
  • I can do 90%+ with a very cheap cloud router (or \~15k local hardware) and free/open recent Deepseek \~300B model.

  • The effectiveness of the TensorWave Lease is subject to the satisfaction or waiver of customary closing conditions, including Board approvals and the **Landlord obtaining project-level financing**, at a closing expected to occur on or before September 30, 2026 (subject to extension), and either party may terminate the TensorWave Lease if those conditions are not satisfied.

  • Across its history, Moore's Law has repeatedly hit apparent "walls" -- heat, lithography limits, cost explosions, quantum effects -- leading experts to announce its demise.
  • - 1970s-1980s: Early predictions of slowdown appeared when transistor shrinking hit manufacturing limits.
  • - 2010s: As transistors approached atomic scales, commentators again declared Moore's Law dead.
  • Yet FinFETs, EUV lithography, and 3D stacking (e.g., AMD 3D V-Cache, Intel Foveros) kept density rising.
  • In each era, the "death" pronouncements were based on real physical or economic constraints -- but underestimated the industry's ability to innovate around them.
