Market is acting like we're heading towards some kind of generational top..., nothing more scary than seeing giant semiconductor companies go up 15% and down 15% in the same week: ALAB, AMAT, KLAC, LRCX, AMD, etc. Next couple of months in the markets are going to be some of the most interesting times of the past 25 years. Starting with SK Hynix's debut on July 10.

- Putting money in individual companies can be fun to play with, but its not a serious retirement plan in my case.
- I set aside some to play with, and have had some great wins like buying AMD at $3 and NVIDIA at $47.
- But the bulk of my money is always going to go with the top 500.
- Its the best set it and forget it plan imo and lets me weather dot com bubbles and mortgage crisis's with absolutely zero thought.

- The difference is that I'm not blinded by the illusion of infinite growth just because of some trend you saw on Instagram or TikTok.
- Hardware is fundamentally cyclical due to obvious energy, demand, and cost constraints.
- You always need to advertise, which is exactly why GOOG and META are fundamentally non-cyclical businesses.

- Those 3 to me feel like where AI money will start to run to on any rotation back to semis.
- The highest flyers of the past 3 months had mini-blow off tops, so I wouldn't touch those for the next couple of weeks: LRCX, KLAC, AMAT, ALAB, AMD, etc.
- Feels like money will go where there's perceived "AI safety" (to me that's GOOG, TSM, NVDA).

- I made the mistake of exiting my position because I thought my analysis was wrong after just one short-term price drop.
- If I simply bought my shares and forgot my brokerage account password, then that trade would be worth millions today.
