There's a valid argument to drop the Nasdaq specifically because of the abusive rule changes they introduced for SpaceX, which Anthropic will also utilise (and OpenAI if they do IPO). Any company big enough to be in their top 40 by IPO valuation can skip any seasoning period, and force passive investors to buy within 15 days, long before insiders can sell. But the more damaging change is that tiny free floats are tripled in weight. If Anthropic lists just 5% of their company, the Nasdaq behaves as if 15% is available. Funds like QQQ then push prices up chasing a shrunken pool of shares. Anyone holding Nasdaq funds is now likely to pay an hidden IPO tax to private equity. It won't be massive (unless one of these companies crashes) but it may well be comparable to ETF fees.

- I do this as the New York session is where the money is and I get to spend the least amount of time to day.
- - you need to make a plan on what your goals are, how much time you want to spend on learning, day trading, current and future circu stances.
- I use TastyTrade, no simulation, to trade options (lowest commissions and capped) and TradingView for charting.
- - You should practice your strategy/plan for at least 2-3 months, grow a small account consistently, redo it and then if you want to use some cash, less than $500 which you can afford to lose.

- I knew that value investing works after a lot of simulations, that's what made me not sell.
- MSFT was hit by "not racing for AI" as the rest of Mag-7, that makes the price fall a lot even when the business was intact.
- It is, I think, one of the best businesses in the world in terms of size, moat and income stream so I bought as much as I could seeing those prices.

- The dotcom era was full of companies that were valued at astronomical prices, yet, we're barely operational and had no revenue.
- AI is made up of many very healthy companies with the highest revenues recorded in history, as well as projections that show a likelihood of strong growth.
- You'll see a much more dramatic pullback recently in QQQ because it's more heavily weighted by these AI/tech companies...

- Selling into strength, buying into weakness, all day, just to stay flat.
- Ranges stay tight and price sits around the big strikes, and that stickiness is the "magnet" everybody means.
- There's a level where the board crosses from one to the other too, which is why the same strike can pin on Tuesday and get run over on Thursday.
- When the guess is right the story works, when it's off for that strike the whole thing flips and the number looks the same either way.
- The 10 tickers advice is good for a different reason imo... you learn how that one name behaves around its own levels, and that doesn't transfer to the next one.

- I wish I could post a picture of the % gains during the timeframes you're talking about but I'm not sure that's possible on here.
