Anthropic Targets Record IPO Valuation Amid Profitability Questions

This is just completely ignoring that the American stock markets, and retail investors, particularly on robinhood, have had the best wealth creation in the history of the world with SPY compounding +7% for a 100 years and QQQ looking like it's on +25% CAGR and has 25x'd in the last 20 years (yes you read that right). These are the most common investments for retail traders... If you listen to these simpletons ("ai bubble" "retail trader exploitation") instead of actively investing every additional savings into QQQ & SPY, don't cry in the casino while you get left behind in the most prosperous and opportune place in history. Also just so you know you're totally spewing misinformation fam.... Retail investors in the US have OUTPERFORMED instructional investors over the last few years.

Let's say you want to trade Nasdaq futures. First, you trade QQQ shares. If you're profitable after ...

  • If you're profitable after a bunch of trades, move up to 3x ETFs (TQQQ/SQQQ) in this case.
  • Once you're been profitable trading those for a while, then you can move up to micro shares (MNQ).
  • The last step is mini futures, NQ in this case.
  • Now unless you have a big account, probably best to stick with MNQ.
  • When it goes against you, it can be scarier than options especially if you don't use stop losses.

  • You need to start back at the basics if you want to be a profitable trader.

Are bonds/fixed income really required for someone approaching retirement? 1 0.8158 investing

My portfolio, not including 529 money or home equity is fairly large, to the point where it is over ...

  • So it's not difficult task to build out a 10 year TIPS ladder which would be about 16% of my current portfolio.
  • However, I need to average 3.4% assuming no more contributions until the first date I would even consider retiring to get the so called number I was looking for, which would bring that TIPS ladder to about 12% of my portfolio.

How Do I Short The Anthropic IPO? 1 0.9783 stocks

  • Open a small account that is free from taxes (if possible) and buy ETF like XEQT, QQQ, VTI, SPY, INAI.
  • You can then live abroad like in asia or latin america half the year to cut your expanses.
  • Unless you get VERY good at trading and find your edge, get a company that can manage your portefolio and give you feedback when markets are shifting.
  • For the trading part here's the basic stuff you'll want to learn to be able to read a chart: - candlestick shapes and patterns - risk management - indicators like EMA & SMA, MACD, RSI, bollinger bands, VWAP - find a decent stock screener (finviz is pretty decent and you have a news section, which is useful) - learn to read market movement, start by simply looking at price action (how the chart evolves), don't try to get in.
  • - then start with small amounts with real money and learn to deal with emotions that come with that part (to avoid them).

At what point does owning SPY + QQQ + a growth ETF stop being diversification and start being the same bet in different wrappers? 19 0.915 investing

The moment you buy 2 ETFs that hold the same companies it stops being diversification. I think the...

  • I think the thought that "on paper it looks diversified because they're 3 different ETFs" is fundamentally flawed logic.
  • Buying QQQ along with SPY is usually an attempt to concentrate, not diversify.
  • In the current environment it honestly isn't even doing a great job of achieving that tho.
  • At the end of the day, It is important to know what you are investing in and why, and someone who is buying different ETFs that hold the same companies likely does not know either of those things, unless they are trying to get more exposure to something that their current holdings do not provide.

  • QQQ is the top 100 out of 3000 nasdaq listed stocks.
  • How is it wrong to purchase QQQ out of the perceived quality of being in the top 3% of a index, but it's okay to purchase VOO out of the perceived quality of being in the top 4.1% off a market?
  • I just see so many people with the "nasdaq is inherently" argument, and I'm not sure that's how everyone investing in QQQ perceives the situation.
  • Genuinely curious how what is stated above would be a false comparison, or is inherently flawed.
  • If I am wrong in some fundamental way that I'm not perceiving please lay it out for me so I have a better understanding of this "inherently" argument.

  • You shouldn't have to worry about setting it with the trade dont trade super late into the day (past 3pm est) and it shouldn't move that hard before you can set your stop.
  • Some brokers allow you to set stops when placing orders but mine doesn't, so I just do it immediately after.
  • Since it's such a low price, and the option going to 8 cents would stop you our for example, you may fly right past 8 cents and go into 7 or 6, causing you to lose more then you anticipated off your stop loss.
  • My advice, set stop losses at -20% to -30% on liquid options (SPY, QQQ, NVDA, GOOGL, AAPL ETC) and ensure if you're buying OTM you're only going 1 strike up at thr most.
  • I know the contracts costs more, but you also have less of a risk of getting stopped out lower then you anticipated.

  • Their companies are opaque, their market is very volatile, and their photonics technology is 2+ years behind America.
  • Plus, you have geopolitical risk anytime Trump escalates the trade war with China.
  • CoreWeave is an absolute debt bomb, and some of the other holdings are extremely risky due to debt and/or loony valuations.
  • It's not a bad idea to own both as I do expect them to outperform QQQ, but if you do your research you're probably just buying the leaders directly.

  • I stopped losing every damn day when I realized I didn't need to be in a trade everyday.
  • And most importantly...taking trades at SUBJECTIVE supply and demand areas.
  • I only take trades at those aforementioned highs and lows because they're OBJECTIVE levels.
  • And there's pretty much guaranteed liquidity at those extreme high/lows which means price is generally going to get good movement when you enter there.
  • I just wait for price to come to my levels with proper stacking confluence and then I execute.

Yeah def not full-on rotations yet, just some early signal of movement. I've found in backtesting my...

  • I've found in backtesting my system that these early lag -> improve movements will provide signals for entry, but you do need to weigh that against everything else here (and actually this is an excerpt from a much longer analysis that helps complete the picture).
  • Then I enter with very tight stop for trades, or use it for entry into stocks I like for long holds.
  • I want the path to show improving to leading, ideally with RS turning up across shorter windows.
  • So when something flips lagging to improving, 8 week RS can still be deeply negative.
