$SAVE (Spirit Airlines) will be the FOMO play of the year 2024-10-27T20:56:18+00:00 501 wallstreetbets
  • To everyone thinking about buying shares -- *don't*.
  • This one isn't like other meme stocks where even if it doesn't pop you can hodl while hoping that it will eventually rally.
  • Spirit is facing the kind of bankruptcy where your shares will be worth **zero**.
  • If you're looking to gamble, there are earnings this week for AMD, Reddit, Amazon, FB, Snap, and several others that are basically lotto tickets.
  • If you're looking to throw money away like you would be by buying $SAVE, you'd be better off spending it on hookers, as you could be getting fucked just as hard.

  • While NVDA doesn't report until later in November, AMZN, MSFT, GOOGL, and META all report next week.
  • If they aren't great NVDA is a short up until earnings.
  • Next week will determine if NVDA (and AI) has more room up until end of year
  • And those 4 names make up nearly 40% of all NVDA revenue.
  • Also AMD reporting earnings next week will let us know if they actually got any real volume on orders for their new chip.

  • - The interest and payments on the debt don't sound like much but when it starts costing 2 billion a year maybe more and it's a quarters or two's profit it becomes an issue
  • - Being last in Datacenter/AI has hurt them exponentially and they are essentially within the next couple months going to be a gen behind AMD and Nvidia
  • - You can pick from a ton of other companies to invest in and there will be movement while Intel over the next two years likely won't go up much and will likely trade sideways or fall further down.

  • Cherry picks margin numbers not accounting for the fact that AMD is still writing off expenses associated with the Xilinx merger that affects reported profits which is also why their trailing P/E is so ridiculously high.

  • Short-term could certainly bounce especially towards the end of month and early next year, but beyond that people are going to go, "Why don't I just own NVDA or AVGO?"
  • AMD short-term technically quite a bit oversold and probably being pretty impacted by end of year loss selling.
  • Beyond that, there was the trade late last year until around March where people were clearly hoping that AMD would catch up to some meaningful degree to NVDA.

Why is Intel lagging for so long? Where did they go wrong 2024-04-15T03:31:27+00:00 976 stocks
  • AMD was their only competition, and AMD stopped being competitive for awhile.
  • Intel sat around doing nothing but releasing the same tired 4-core CPUs with a 5% generational increase every year.
  • They stopped investing money into the development of their own node shrinks and got stuck on 14nm for way too long while TSMC breezed past, and AMD got their shit together.
Why is Intel lagging for so long? Where did they go wrong 2024-04-15T04:08:38+00:00 578 stocks
  • They wasted their decades long lead on this instead of R&D, now they are playing catch up on AI to AMD who is playing catch up on Nvidia.
  • AMD didn't stop being competitive for a while, Intel played dirty for decades to keep them under.
  • They drowned them in frivolous lawsuits, they made benchmarks look poor on AMD chips when their own were inferior, and paid companies like Microsoft to not use AMD.

  • I said it will probably triple in a 2 years even at it's inflated price.
  • That's just the cycle of semiconductor business lots of spending then a few years where they won't need much.
  • I'm a huge NVDA fan since 2016 and been doing datacenter consults mostly NVDA and AMD for the last 8 years.
  • The more worrying thing for NVDA is people are having us try out AMD in test environments and other products so I'm not sure how long NVDA holds that crazy dominance it has and the margins.
  • 2 years ago when NVDA was under $300 I said they really have no peer in this space.

AMD is the biggest opportunity in the Semi space 2024-12-21T08:46:15+00:00 5 stocks
  • Considering Lisa Su won CEO of the year and AMD YTD is down considerably (in comparison to its competitors in big tech) the consensus on this has been sour.
  • The fundamentals are good, cash to debt ratio is at 2+, their debt to equity ratio is good.
  • This is a long term hold, so not only your money is invested but so is your time.

  • Now you have to ask yourself, do you want to gamble that INTC could have a little run-up based on valuation, but they have no track record of sustaining the capital appreication?
  • I'll hold the solid stocks long term and let them grow my wealth for me.
  • Point I'm trying ot make is saying INTC is a bad investment isn't necessarily saying the company is crashing and burning and is worthless.
  • If I'm not mistaken, INTC has jumped from $18-20 to $22-24 range multiple times in the past few months.

  • AMD is worth more than Intel because they shook up the industry with innovation.
  • Tesla shook up the auto industry way more than AMD with semiconductors, and is enjoying its benefits.
  • Making electric vehicles a norm, pushing its existence away from just being a fad, making cars enjoyable to be in, having that central console that just works.. all of it adds up.
  • Even today it's only real competition is only Chinese, who don't compete in the US anyway.
  • When you shake the market up, and continue to stay at the top, you get to enjoy those high valuations.

AMD is the biggest opportunity in the Semi space 2024-12-20T02:08:44+00:00 13 stocks
  • AMD earnings growth forecast is 40% and trading 40% below value vs NVDA earnings growth forecast is 25% and trading 25% over.
  • Yes and NVDA is overvalued right now while AMD is undervalued.
  • NVDA is huge and will pull big numbers but a dollar invested in AMD today, in my opinion will return more than a dollar invested in NVDA today over say a 5-10 year timeframe.
  • So sure NVDA to the moon but AMD has way more catch up to do and that's very valuable to the future earnings potential of a dollar invested.
  • Competition is healthy and AMDs focus on accelerators and AI networking seems to be pointing to a potential breakout.
