Once the real panic selling begins it will trigger margin calls, stop losses, more panic sells and SPY will be below $500 before you know it.
Reminder - one day you'll die, and your whole life (staring at the chart waiting for SPY to hit 770) will flash before your eyes.

Buying the dip on individual stocks or adding to index funds: what's your approach to this pullback?
I prefer to buy SPY on the way up to capture broad market upswings and then buy individual stocks (specifically, UNH and AMD) when they're down. I'm pretty confident in these shares and I already intend to hold them for a very long time. It's done incredibly well for me.

Does picking stocks on fundamentals beat picking at random? I tested 31,000 strategies to find out.
I'd guess a good part of it does, since a lot of the metrics measure the same things the factors do, like value, profitability and momentum. … Reporting the best of 31,000 would have been data mining since it is guaranteed some of them will generate high returns purely from luck.

Punt that $5K on 0dte SPY and time the top and bottom perfectly and you're looking at $50-100K. It takes 1 very good earnings trade, followed by 1 very good SPY 0dte.
