- For the sake of argument, and this can and does happen to traders, you can be trained in a certain market on a certain strategy that might present you with a setup in your playbook on average once a day, then move to another market that presents your setup twice a day.
- An SPX/SPY ODTE options trader moving to ES is a pretty good example of this.
- If you're not already doing this, start labeling your setups, ideally with some detail, and once you have a good sample size look at what's working and what's not.
- Point being, focus on trade quality while your mental edge is still sharp.
- Also don't forget that sizing up makes more money too, assuming all else remains equal.

- I think there are some really interesting options strategies, but most of the ones I've found intriguing require a good amount of money, especially if you don't want to be risking a high percent of your total capital (which you shouldn't).
- This would be using global macro events or some sort of news / data to make a broad prediction (i.e. there's a unique cold wave hitting America, because of this more people will heat their homes than usual and therefore I will long natural gas futures).
- No matter what you end up choosing LEARN TRADING PSYCHOLOGY BEFORE RISKING A LOT (OR ANY) MONEY.
- The book Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas is a great starting point for beginners.
- Trading is truly a different kind of work requiring radical openness to new ideas, new ways of learning and new beliefs.

- The issue with most traders is they are way under capitalize and forced to have poor risk management due to small accounts.
- I learn from Al Brooks and only use 3 concepts from him (2 legged pullbacks, wedges, and 3 consecutive strong close candles).
- Lots of scammers out there giving people false expectations on trading.
- All you need is a system that has a win rate of 55 to 60 percent with a 1 to 1 reward to risk ratio (better if 1 to 1.5R).
- Just need to make that cash register ring consistently at first until you can handle the volatility of high reward to risk trades.

- I trade 2 legged pullbacks to the 20 EMA and bounce in the direction of the longer term trend.
- I also look for 3 consecutive candles with strong closes in the direction of the trend.
- I also like trading reversals on wedges or 3 pushes in a direction.
- You are trading against the same people everyday and will understand their behavior.

- i wouldn't even go to live until ran it with appropriate friction of commissions and slippage.
- you should take your live slippage and plug back into the model.
- MES your fine with 1 tick slippage, most stops in ES get filled at stop price and entries always cross the bid/ask so 1 works, pretty much the same for the Russell.
- Your long vs short symmetry is really good ans shows its not leaning on a strutural bull market bias.
- you need to focus on the individual trades not the days, so if your average net profile per trades is less than say 1.5-2 on MES your transaction/friction will eat your edge.
