What Reddit is saying
I buy into WDC earlier this week and out of fucking no where, toshiba drops a fucking nuke on STX and WDC saying they'll increase HDD production??They make money by building servers and sell to data centers..WDC STX falls -> DELL HPE up and they are up today..So instead of buying into hell, buy into heaven w/ dell and hpe, that is a far more reasonable approach.

Buying large cap stocks on a dip and waiting for it to go up

- I'm new - I started out trying to momentum scalp trade, and due to not being proficient with the software I would occasionally lose my stop losses, or accidentally sell 1 share instead of 100% of my shares and wouldn't realize until later.
- A couple times I just sold for the larger losses - but then I realized that as long as they were solid stocks they ended up coming back stronger and I made more money on my accidents than I would have on my scalps.
- That's what got me moving toward swing trading (added bonus, I don't have to stare at screens and hunt through 50 charts to find one with a safe scalping setup)
- I pay $20 a month for ChatGPT to get alerts and a longer memory (so it learns what I'm looking for) and now it tells me when there's a possible candidate - a stock that drops a lot of a little piece of bad news, or drops/holds steady when it looks like it just had great news, or is experiencing a dip related to something transitory.
- Sorry for the long reply, but talking about all this does help me clarify my thought process, and I don't want to bore my friends with it
