Smaller guys? Who are the smaller guys? Chinese labs? Europe's Mistral? Or the ones that just are in…
- Or the ones that just are inbetweens selling API access to the bigger players/self-hosting free open-source models for gpu rental?
- Nah, I'd say the ones to keep an eye on are ORCL OpenAI and Anthropic.
- If OpenAI goes bust then MSFT and the other big private investors will inherit their model, same with anthropic.
- ORCL is a weak link and I'm not sure if it qualifies for too big to fail.
- All that being said, imagine how cheap GPUs and memory get if orcl implodes, self-hosted big-ai or the small players doing gpu rental would feast if anything.
Holding SGOV for more than 3 months. I don't understand a comment.
I'm using a modified version of the Permanent Portfolio - about 20% in gold, 25% cash (SGOV), 30% eq…
- Sorry - a long way to say SGOV is fine, but in general avoid the bond funds like the plague in a rising interest rate environment.
Think it's time to call it in

- Those index funds are more than 40% AI bubble whether you choose VT, SPY or QQQ.
- 25% SPY, 25% VT, 25% SPYI, 10% TQQQ and 5% TLT for the rest of the year.

Have you ever liked a company so much that you bought its stock despite thinking it was overpriced?
There is some element of luck to this, but my best performing investments have been picks like these…
- It's very difficult to generate outsized returns on companies that are easily quantified and low risk.
- Being early to the party in NVDA, TSLA, or AMZN would have been incredibly difficult if you are investing based on valuation alone.
- The best performing companies grow into their valuation by sustaining revenue and earnings growth at rates higher and longer than sellers are expecting.

- Swing trading is easy...just need to be ok with your money being tied up for a few days/a week or so...thats the whole point...to give the stock a chance to move.
- I am always looking for stocks that have dipped recently...the last week or month or three...like 10-25 or more % but the % isn't everything as I look at the current price compared to the 52 week high and low...especially looking for dips that aren't due to terrible news.
- Some other cheap stocks right now for swing trading or long term portfolio are CMG DKNG SOFI RDDT APP and SOUN, although SOUN his shorted alot.
I have been DCA'ing into VOO since 2012 and now I'm rich.

- Imagine throwing all that into AMD, MU, TSM, etc instead for example.
- VOO isn't the magic sauce here, even if it's a great ETF.

Citizens of Europe,
I once again invite you to consider purchasing these fine American equities.
…
- If you want a precision timepiece that costs more than the GDP of a small African nation you go Swiss.
- We took capitalism, sprinkled it with amphetamines and degeneracy, and turned it into a $50 trillion stock market.
- Perhaps you're content with your nice, stable, bond backed pension fund, ticking up at 4-5% per year.
- List your IKEA furniture on Facebook Marketplace or whatever the EU-compliant, privacy friendly equivalent you use is.
- Norway, sink that big, dirty, sovereign wealth fund into NVDA.
Amazon or Tesla: which would you buy today?

- Agree with the core point, but I'd frame it less as Wall Street hiding things and more as narrative vs. numbers.
- * **Valuation:** AMZN trades at \~19.6x trailing earnings and 3.4x sales.
- On pure fundamentals it's not close, yet TSLA carries a $1.4T market cap on the robotaxi/AI story.
- AMZN's free cash flow is slightly negative right now (FCF margin around -1.5%) because of AI capex, same as META.
- The AI rally is basically a bet on whether all this spending turns into cash flow.
S&P 500 breadth just hit its lowest level since the Dotcom bubble.
It's not NVDA that you should look at. As long as these hyperscalers (AMZN, META, GOOG, and MSFT) ar…
- As long as these hyperscalers (AMZN, META, GOOG, and MSFT) are raking in profits from their core business, then NVDA holds the top spot.
- Back then, there were a lot of hopes and dreams that these companies could turn a profit.
- Right now, there's no hope because profits are reported.
- So, for the markets to drop, you'll need to hear META, MSFT, AMZN, and GOOG tell its investors that capex is decreasing.
- Looks like Zuck is just getting started on his version of AI.
What not to do.
For point 1, I guess it really depends on your style of trading. With day trading specifically, its …
- Trading liquid options (like NVDA, AMD, TSLA, etc) where contracts cost about $2-$4 with the intention of selling the same day allows one to make nice returns if paired with good risk (obviously).
- To go into more detail, at market open, we can see price fluctuate pretty drastically.
- Pair this with multiple contracts and its pretty clear to see the appeal for trading options.
- Additionally, because this volatile activity usually occurs in the mornings, I can finish my day after just a few trades.

- Of the $42b loss, $34b is attributed to warrants issued at lower valuation that now have substantially higher valuation.
- For example, suppose I granted warrants at $3.4b at the time, and valuation has since surged by 10x.
- But it's a **one time** non-cash charge - it's not as if Anthropic needs to find $34b of cash to reverse this loss - it's not debt.
- You could almost view it as opposite effect of AMZN GOOGL and MSFT reporting huge sums of paper gains from their investments in Anthropic and OpenAI, even though they didn't sell yet.
- It's just a matter of keeping proper accounting records.
