Bullish
Sure, you won't be ruined holding VOO/SPY, but SPYD and RSP will be the winner medium-term.
Bearish
RSP keeps going green when it needs to.

Bond yields are soaring and prices plummeting
You're mostly right. But stocks are also much more fragile in a recessionary environment. It's also recommended to use a smoothing metric for company earnings. RSP at a 5% earnings yield doesn't mean much if this is peak earnings in the cycle. The spread between earnings yield and treasury yields is one of its lowest in history. Weekend Discussion Thread for the Weekend of October 10-11
Eh, spy did go down on the openai news and SPYD went up over a percent. Sure, you won't be ruined holding VOO/SPY, but SPYD and RSP will be the winner medium-term.
Is anyone else noticing a growing bearish market breadth divergence?
And I just saw someone talk about how breadth has been great, which yeah, it was up to September. … We may be able to get away with RSP outperformance for a little while, but eventually that tech sector lagging is gonna bite.
Daily Discussion Thread for October 12, 2026
RSP keeps going green when it needs to. Tech leads in a dumb way, everything else starts to play catch up, tech takes a breather, everything else takes a breather, tech soars for no reason. A scam as old as time.
What Are Your Moves Tomorrow, October 12, 2026
Yeah but we'll just rotate, RSP did what you would want to see last week after tech does a dumb push to ATH with the markets on its back.

As much as I wanna be bearish, RSP closing green with +.60% is a positive sign. Keep an eye on the breadth numbers refresh at 5PM.
